Multi-Channel is More Than TV

Reuse, repeat, remind.

Tell them, and then tell them what you told them. Repetition is the key to helping your message stick. But nobody wants to hear the exact same thing time and again—or in the same way.

Promoting the story through a variety of channels is a must. Members of your target audience will naturally gravitate to specific publications, whether online or print. They may “get” what you’re saying through a short video, even when the details have been shared elsewhere. Events with experts socializing your message may be the path for some.

I led an 18-month thought leadership project on behalf of Pearl Meyer and the Women Corporate Directors’ Foundation which advanced both organizations’ objectives. In order to effectively convey key points, an edgy press release, a highly produced video, and multiple contributed articles were carefully planned and executed. This is in addition to the report itself, that included data from a custom survey and dozens of interviews with leading directors and academics. Both groups continued to amplify its core messages for several years through additional speaking opportunities, panels, articles, and videos.
